Salam ladies,
I realise I didn’t post any write-up in Feb. So I thought of listing down essential carpentry works that the whole house would need and thought of eliminating some of it by replacing it with ready-made furnitures so as to save some $. This is because the kind of carpentry or design that I want is more of classic designs so we’ve surveyed that this kind of carpentry will cost more.
Carpentry Works
-
Kitchen Cabinets
-
Built-in Wardrobes (Is it necessary to have a built-in wardrobe in the other 2 rooms? Well, my reason is that if we buy a ready-made wardrobe it will not fit the ceiling height. So there will be a small gap between the wardrobe and the ceiling. This can collect dust and most likely this lazy wife won’t clean that particular area.)
-
Built-in TV Console Area (well, to avoid unsightly wires lying around)
-
Living Room
-
Master Bedroom
-
Built-in Study Area
-
Book Shelves
-
Drawers
-
Desk for 2 persons
-
Built-in Dining Seat
-
Window Frames
-
Door Frames
-
KIV Built-In Cabinet + Sitting area in the master bedroom at the windows
-
Wall Mouldings
I think that’s about it, masya Allah. The more I could think, the more $ we have to spend. Alright now, which one should I eliminate? Ok, kitchen is by default is a need so therefore no elimination. Built-in dining area and tv console is something that I’ve been dreaming of for the longest time. So yeah, we shouldn’t remove it. I am still not sure whether I should include a TV console in the master bedroom. Built-in study area is something that I really want too but I think we could replace it with ready-made furnitures. Maybe in the next future, we could do up again this study area. Or perhaps, we could have the built-in book shelves while the desk we could purchase a ready-made. Oh my, so fickle. Built-in vanity in the toilets, well it would be nice to have but maybe we should just attach the washing basin instead? But I am not sure how classic it will look though. Window and door frames I feel that in order to have that classic look, we should have this window frames. I think it’s a unique way and it’s very uncommon here. Moreover, I feel that it might cost much lesser than building the other carpentry works. For the wardrobes in the other 2 rooms, maybe we can consider buying the ready-made ones if I strongly insist on having the built-in study area. Alright, that’s about it, see you next time. 🙂
